GOTHAM’S GREATEST FEARS ARE ABOUT TO BE UNLEASHED - The city faces chaos after Arkham’s best doctor, Jonathan Crane (Sam Witwer) sets out his devilish plan to seek his revenge on the man that destroyed his career, creating his villainous disguise as the Scarecrow; but when the Caper Crusader gets in his way, his target becomes Batman (Christian Bale) and the city he's tried to protect for a year now. Teaming up with Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman) and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Mark Valley), Batman plans to clean up the city and stop men like Crane, but with such criminal lunatics as the Joker (Johnny Depp) and his playmate Harley Quinn (Kristin Bell) planning their huge breakout of Arkham Asylum, all hell begins to break loose. Joining the action packed adventure is photo journalist Vicki Vale (Sarah Michelle Gellar), who would do anything to snap a shot of the Batman in action, and reporter Selina Kyle (Jessica Alba); who will show us how someone who has everything can fall so far, and so fast - especially in the city of Gotham. Most known for his billionaire playboy personality, Bruce Wayne is far more than the eye can see. In the wake of his parents' death, he sought out vengeance on the criminals that plague the city of Gotham; training his mind and body into that of a stronger man. As time progressed, he turned his intellectual, and experienced skills into something much greater: becoming the Bat. His most struggle is keeping his identity hidden, as in this day and age, he is seen as nothing more than a vigilante.
Being a longtime friend of Commissioner Gordon's, he is soon introduced to the Dark Knight, and the three of them locked up the Joker at Arkham Asylum. A year gone by, and he became the District Attorney, who still today works with the two in stopping organized crim throughout the city of Gotham. But, with all these years of stopping insane criminals, it begins to take a toll on him. And soon, it starts to dwell.
Moving into the city of Gotham, Selina Kyle starts out with it all; the cash, the loving parents, a friendly roommate, and the biggest paying job at Gotham Daily. But when crime rates start rising, she loses it all; her parents are murdered, her heritance is drained up, she loses her job, and finds herself working the street as a high-priced prostitute. And one risky outing leads her down a dangerous path that could cost Selina her life!
Being a professor in his starting years, teaching phobias at the University, Jonathan Crane was soon transfered to Arkham, by the man who begun the Asylum. Helping criminals overcome insanity, he kick started his fear toxin, in hopes of helping them overcome their greatest fears. But, when it became to outrageous, and dangerous, the experiments were ended and Dr. Crane was fired. Now, seeking his revenge, he disguises himself as a terrifying Scarecrow, spreading his fear across the city!
Being promoted to Commissioner, after working with the Batman and Harvey Dent to bring the Joker down, Jim Gordon continues his run on stopping crime in Gotham City, and has become better than ever. With a kid on the way, problems begin to stir up at home with his wife Barbara, and he's soon finding himself having to chose between his life as an officer of the law, and his wife. But how can he chose his wife over protecting Gotham with the Joker planning his biggest breakout, and the Scarecrow out in the streets spreading his fear toxin on the people of Gotham City?
Desperately wanting one-on-one time with the big black bat, Vicki Vale would do just about anything to snap a picture of him in action. And with all that's going on, its a surprise she hasn't yet. Usually her high-paying job leads her down risky paths that causes the Dark Knight to swoop his way down and save her, but when her curiousity leads her towards the Joker and Harley Quinn, her only want becomes the desire to live. Can she overcome her damsel in distress like nature? Or will she always depend on the Batman's help?
Being locked up in Arkham, the Joker was apprehended, in Batman's first year as Gotham's Dark Knight. As chaos consumes the city, the Joker plans the biggest escape from Arkham, with the help of his asylum therapist Dr. Harley Quinzell. And when he sense a party, he has to be there. Breaking out, his destined fate with the Caped Crusader may just come to an end; if his plans come into play the way he so wishes them too.
Being the Joker's therapist at Arkham Asylum, she started off as a young, innocent woman. But when the Joker was through with her, she soon fell in love with the insane criminal mastermind, and helped him pull off his biggest escape yet. Joining him in the fight against the Bat, she guised herself as Harley Quinn, dressing up like her boytoy, and becoming an even bigger threat than the Joker himself. Her cute, innocent attitude is used to her advantage to get away with things; but that trick never works with the bat! Is she someone Batman can save, or is she too far lost in love of the Joker?
Often known for his words of wisdon, Alfred Pennyworth has devoted his entire life to making Bruce Wayne a better man. Sticking with him through his uprising as the Dark Knight, he often finds himself cleaning wounds, protecting his identity, and escorting his lovely bachelorettes out of the Wayne Mansion. But, his intellect and knowledge serves great justice to Bruce in solving investigations that could prove helpful to the cause.
